Veolia Environmental Services Opens LEED Silver Certified Construction Maintenance Facility

Veolia Environmental Services has opened its new, eco-friendly LEED Silver Certified construction maintenance facility, located at W144 S6350 College Court in Muskego on Earth Day. The new facility will provide maintenance services for Veolia ES vehicles all over the metro area.

The new maintenance facility constructed by MSI General was designed and built to remain eco-friendly and energy efficient. The new building incorporates skylights and garage windows all over the building to bring in natural lighting and to cut down the use of electric lighting. The building incorporates a radiant floor heating system to provide heat and a lighting system with motion sensors for automatic switching off the lights and to bring down the electric consumption. The building utilized recycled concrete as backfill.

According to Jim Long, Veolia ES Solid Waste’s President and CEO, the other environment friendly efforts of the company in Wisconsin includes preservation of wetlands at a number of landfills in Wisconsin, improved green construction buildings and landfill gas-to-energy pipelines in the Milwaukee metro area and Wisconsin Rapids.
