Aker Construction, an auxiliary of Aker Solutions, has been contracted by V & M STAR to provide the materials required for the erection of a seamless pipe mill located in Youngstown, Ohio, USA.
The contract includes the erection of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems associated with the project. The value of the contract remains confidential.
The project is placed next to the operations of V & M Star LP in Youngstown, Ohio. V & M has officially started the construction of the project at the end of July and is looking forward to commencing operations of the new mill in 2012. Aker Solutions is presently implementing the supply and construction of the pipe mill building necessary to hold back the machinery and operations in a separate contract.
V & M Star is owned by Vallourec, a known producer of tubular products meant for use in oil and gas industries. The company performs its operations from its three sites located in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas and Youngstown, Ohio.
