Taseko Mines Selects Ausenco Minerals and Metals for Gibraltar Development Project

Ausenco - Minerals and Metals declared that it has received the Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) deal from Taseko Mines.

The $237 million contract will require Ausenco to complete the infrastructure part related to the Gibraltar Development Plan 3 (GDP3) project.

Ausenco provides engineering and project management services and has specialized in the energy and resource segment. The company has significant experience in the mining industry as well as in expansion projects. Earlier, the company was engaged in a number of projects such as Lumwana copper project in Zambia, Kinsevere Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Sepon Copper Project in Laos.

The GDP3 project, which is planned for completion in December 2012, will increase the yearly copper yield of Gibraltar to 180 million pounds, which is twice target attained in 2010.
