Wilmar International to Construct Natural Alcohol Plant in Netherlands

Wilmar International and Huntsman have declared that a Memorundum of Understanding (MOU) has been reached between their subsidiary companies.

As per the deal, Wilmar will construct a natural alcohol facility Huntsman-owned chemical site in Rozenburg, Netherlands and will deliver natural alcohols required by Huntsman.

The proposed plant, which will come up in the Europoort area of Rotterdam, will be built on a 85-hectare site. Wilmar, a well-known agricultural commodities company in Asia, will own and operate the plant. The project will commence upon receiving the required government approvals and permits. The proposed facility is anticipated to commence in 2013.

According to Kuok Khoon Hong, Wilmar International’s Chairman and CEO, the proposed site provides the required infrastructure and is placed at the center of the second biggest industrial area. He added that company looking ahead to get connected with the chemical neighborhood and consolidate its presence in Europe with the new natural alcohol facility.
