Pediatric Dental Practice Earns LEED Certification in Northern California
The new pediatric dental facility at 1300 South Eliseo Drive in Greenbrae, California has become the first dental office dedicated to pediatrics to earn LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in the U.S.
The certification is confirmed by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). The new facility is owned by Dr. Gila C. Dorostkar, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Board Certified Pediatric Specialist.
The pediatric facility incorporates a number of sustainable practices such as increased use of daylight, reduced level of water usage, and optimized use of energy through deployment of green power. To prevent air pollution, the construction utilized low-emission causing adhesives and other materials and generally utilized recycled materials all through the construction of building. The building incorporates automotive controls for lighting and HVAC. The medical facility is located close to a mass transport system and bicycle path ways.
According to John G. Millar, project manager, the new office is designed to support clean energy practices and incorporates latest equipment. It utilizes digital practices to do away with the use of paper.
