Solar Innovations Introduces SI9401 Universal Clamp for Rooftop Installation

Solar Innovations, a company specializing in windows, doors, alternative energy products, skylights and glazed structures, has launched the SI9401 universal clamp meant for rooftop solar installations.

As a part of the LEED certification plans, the company has completed the installation of a solar PV system over the roof of its corporate office and production facility. To meet the requirement of the market, the company developed the SI9401 universal clamp, a standing type of seam roof clamp for secure installation of racking and panel systems over the roof.

SI9401 Universal Clamp for roof installation

The roof clamp, unlike other types of clamps, does not require any pressure points that cause holes while installing the solar PV panels to standing seam roofs. The clamp is designed to attach the load of solar panels to standing seam roofing and flanged materials by utilizing a new design that provides constant pressure contact against the installation surface, thus eliminating any enduring damage to the roof. The installation is simple and does not make any alterations over the roof.

The SI9401 clamp incorporates a hammer to cut down the pressure over the seam. The hammers preserve a regular point of contact with the installation surface, thus avoiding the risk of damage to the roof. This is achieved by disseminating the load of the clamp entirely over the hammer instead of over the points of two bolts. The clip lengths and hammers can be custom made with universal clamps. The SI9401also works compatibly with most of the other racking systems.

The SI9401 universal clamp is provided with stainless steel hardware for erecting the clamp and mounting an object over the clamp. The diverse hammer designs address the mounting issues of various types of flanges and seams.
