Skanska Gets Prague Subway Extension Contract

The City of Prague’s Department of Public Transportation, has presented a construction contract to Skanska valued at around CZK 3.7 billion for completing the extension of the Prague subway.

The contract is for the extension of Prague subway line A with four additional stations. Skanska is engaged for the technical component of the subway extension, which requires the company to construct the needed energy installations, fixing air-conditioning for the subway system, installing a communication system and low voltage. The total length of the subway line is around 6 km. The company will commence the work shortly and anticipates getting it completed by autumn 2014.

Skanska Czech Republic is a part of the project development and building group. The company has 5,600 workers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company is engaged in the development of office buildings in the Czech Republic via Skanska Commercial Development Europe.
