Vinyl Siding Continues to Lead Exterior Cladding Segment of U.S. Homes
According to a recently issued 2010 U.S. Census Bureau data, Vinyl siding continues to lead the new single family homes exterior cladding market, and happens to be the lone exterior cladding company that improved its market share successively for the second year.

It gained two points to take its over all tally of the market share to 36%. The company has been leading the market continuously for the past 16 years and augmented five share points in the last five years.
The share of vinyl siding continue to remain static in all the regions other than the Northeast region where it gained five points to make it 84% of the market share. It leads the Midwest region consecutively for the second year with 70% market share. In the South, the company lags behind Brick with 30% of the market share.
According to Jery Y. Huntley, Vinyl Siding Institute’s ,president and CEO, Vinyl siding continues to lead the market due to its range of benefits such as sustainability, durability, easy maintainability and aesthetic looks. He added that the sidings offered in over 330 certified colors will match the taste and price of any construction and can produce the look of wood without maintenance problems. He explained how the company had taken pains to educate the home owners, re-modelers and builders about the usage of vinyl sidings to achieve its present growth.
