The House Designers, ENERGY STAR Win Energy Efficient House Designs

The recently concluded 2011 Design Competition Award Banquet of The House Designers (THD) and ENERGY STAR had featured new innovative green house designs presented by leading designers and architects from the U.S.A.

A winning House Design

According to Tammy Crosby, The House Designers CEO, the competition was planned by THD in endorsement of its relationship with ENERGY STAR to support the designers and architects of THD to produce novel, original and easily supportable energy conserving home designs and to persuade builders and consumers to induct green initiatives in the design phase itself.

The 2011 competition included house plans and designs for less than 2,000 ft2 and above 2,000 ft2 houses. The latest competition brings forth a range of energy conserving home designs utilizing both low-tech and high-tech supplies and systems along with lasting building styles and latest floor plans to implement and live.

The chosen plans have been included in the THD’s select ENERGY STAR Approved/Green House Plan collections. The plans have energy conserving features and construction particulars such as the use of high performance windows, properly erected insulation, and tightly packed duct systems. The plans also include details on capable heating and cooling equipment and ENERGY STAR rated products and devices and others. The working drawings made available feature product specifications for easy use.

The competition was sponsored by companies such as Lumber Liquidators, Wayne-Dalton, Fypon, Therma-Tru and Danze, which invest in the manufacture of environment responsive residential products.
