PinkWood Signs Contract with Taiga Building Products to Distribute its PK Fireboard Plus

PinkWood has come into an exclusive contract with Taiga Building Products to provide its PK FIRE BOARD PLUS. Taiga Building Products will stock PinkWood’s PK FIRE BOARD PLUS in its locations in Alberta and it will sell the product to its dealers all through the province.

For more than a year, builders in Alberta have been facing a new building condition under Alberta Fire Code 5.6.1.2 to shield fire from spreading to the adjoining buildings. PK FIRE BOARD PLUS, manufactured by PinkWood, is a factory-coated oriented strand board (OSB) designed specifically to provide an efficient stumbling block against fire along with an additional moisture and mold-resistant benefit.

The factory-coated PK FIRE BOARD PLUS is an environmentally friendly product. It is specially designed to resist fire, moisture and mold, and it is non-toxic. The PK FIRE BOARD PLUS product has been developed following standard building practices. It is available in regular OSB sizes. This product has received third party certification from Warnock Hersey.

PK FIRE BOARD PLUS, when exposed to fire, produces a solid layer of shielding char, which covers the panel surface and reduces the capacity of fire to disperse while slowing huge flaming.

Russ Permann, Taiga Building Products’ Vice President, stated that the company has settled to distribute the PK FIRE BOARD PLUS product after much discussion. He also added that every piece of product produced by Pinkwood will meet the criteria emphasized by the Alberta Fire Code.
