Fifield Companies, Chicago and Wood Partners have together constructed four apartment towers and have declared that they will commence the construction of the fifth and final apartment tower, K2 this month.
K2 will be built having 34 floors with 496 units and 348 parking areas. The general contractor is McHugh Construction and the project architect is Pappageorge/Haymes. The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2013.
Homes at the K2 apartment towers will have single, double and triple bedroom apartments as well as studio. The interiors will be luxurious for.eg. 9 ft ceiling, appliances of stainless steel, counter tops of granite, Grohe fixtures and plank flooring.
The entrance to the tower will be an impressive two-story type and a window wall spanning from the floor to the ceiling showing Chicago’s Loop . The first floor of the building will have all on-site amenities.
The residents will be able to use sophisticated amenities that include two party and lounge spaces, each of which will have huge televisions with flat panel display and surround sound. The spaces will feature pool tables, table vignettes and multiple seating. Every lounge space will be equipped with a fireplace and have a pathway to the deck of the outdoor pool. The center of the tower’s outdoor area is a lap pool of 70 ft with four swimming lanes. The deck of the pool will feature four cabanas, two of which will be closed for outdoor massage. The outdoor lounge area will have a gas fire pit and one will be able to directly access the lounge area and the interior party room.
The business center of the tower will have six computer stations and a boardroom for the business needs of the residents. The tower will also have a theater room with a 120” projection television system having THX 5.1 surround sound. The seating arrangement will be stadium-style featuring 17 reclining leather seats. Additionally, the building will offer a gym with equipment featuring flat-panel televisions and iPod docks and locker rooms for men and women with showers, steam rooms and lockers, yoga and basketball court. It will also have a three-floor parking garage for bicycles.
