The company declared that its latest residential project in Cambridge has won LEED-certification for its achievement in green homebuilding and design, presented by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

S+H Construction’s residential project included the construction of a 6,435 square-foot home designed by AndersonPorterDesign. The building included sustainable landscaping, recycled materials, durable construction details, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and also incorporates advanced indoor air quality features such as HEPA filters, Energy Star-rated ventilation fans, and a heat-recovery ventilation system. In addition, the infrastructure expects solar voltaic panel installation.

Renewable energy measures such as a rooftop solar hot water heating system, a ground source heating and cooling system, increased efficiency and installation of Icynene foam insulation for the roof and exterior walls, contributed to the resulting excellent index score.
