Prudential Enters Joint Venture with Greystar for South Carolina Community Project

Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI) have entered into a joint venture with Greystar to construct a 200-unit Class-A mid rise luxury apartment community project in South Carolina.

The community project is located in the old district of Charleston along the S.C Highway 17 and the terminus of Interstate 26. The project will house 200 apartments in an area of 1.77 ac. The residential units will be located above ground retail for 6,887 sq.ft and two podium parking levels. The residential units will comprise a studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. 15% of the residential units will be available for lesser rental rates.

The project is expected to be useful to those seeking an urban lifestyle and particularly to the students of Charleston School of Law, The Citadel and the College of Charleston and Medical University of South Carolina. Prudential is carrying out the transaction on behalf of German investors and Greystar will be responsible for the development, construction and management of the property. According to the MD of PREI the company’s clients can make use of opportunities as the community is located in downtown Charleston and is close to all the finest restaurants, colleges and employers. Greystar specialises in providing multifamily management, investment, integration and development throughout the US
