Plasterboard Stacking System

Aetna UK have launched a new system that saves plasterboard manufacturers the expensive and slow process of rotating two tonne packs.

To ensure individual plasterboards are protected from dirt or moisture, manufacturers previously had to either stack the boards directly onto expensive pallets and wrap them with a horizontal wrapper, or use skids or bearers as a more cost effective medium, with the stretch film holding the skids in place.

Unfortunately, in order to use skids they had to be applied to the top of the pack, wrapped and then the whole pack needed to be rotated. The new Spiror system, has skid insertion and horizontal wrapping combined with a robotic depalletising system.
