USGBC and EnergyPrint Create Performance Metric Strategic Initiative
Energy management software provider Energy Print based in St Pauls and the Minnesota chapter of U.S Green Building Council have jointly created the Performance Metric Strategic Initiative to benchmark buildings in Minnesota that have been certified by LEED.
Under the new initiative, more than 150 buildings in Minnesota will be assessed in terms of energy and water usage. Based on the data collected, areas which require improvement will be identified.
The results of the assessment will be shared with stakeholders so that sustainability efforts are undertaken continuously. The initiative is also aimed at defining local policies regarding sustainable water and energy efficiency. This data will also help in defining the design and construction process for LEED certified buildings. Energy Print will be responsible for the collection of water and energy usage data from each building, analysis of this data and providing its recommendations and insights. It will provide its energy management dashboard on a 90-day subscription basis to all the buildings involved as part of the initiative. The energy management dashboard provided by the company helps companies to ascertain their actual energy costs and identify areas where savings can be made and at the same time project goals can also be achieved. The Minnesota chapter of USGBC helps in the design, construction and operation of building and communities that are eco-friendly.
