Horton Group Installs New Flooring from Longwood Antique Woods

US based advertising agency Horton Group has installed new flooring for its office buildings located in Nashville. The new flooring has been provided by Longwood Antique Woods from its Lexington facility.

The new flooring has been made with old reclaimed oak taken from pre-Civil ear tobacco barns to create a combination of modern architecture and antebellum history.

The oak for the flooring was taken from the siding in the English style Handy Barn which is located in Cynthiana, Ky. This barn was created in the year 1816 by Col. William Brown. The saw cuts and old nail holes have been retained to retain the historic character of the wood. Longwood Antique specialises in reclaiming old wood and from American architectural history and uses it for present day homes. The floors in the office building of Horton Group have been smoothened to acquire a professional setting and at the same time retain the original look and feel of the wood. Longwood Antique has been specialising in the field of reclaiming and recycling old wood for the past eighteen years. The company receives its materials from old barns, warehouses and cabins located across the state of Kentucky and reprocess the same to provide a green product which is not only eco-friendly but also retains historical value.
