WowJoint Holding to Build New Manufacturing and R&D Facility
Chinese infrastructure solutions provider WowJoint Holdings has announced that it will construct a new manufacturing and R&D facility in Zhenjiang City New District.
A formal ground breaking ceremony towards this end was held recently. The new facility will be operated by Zhenjiang WowJoint Heavy Duty Machinery Co.
The manufacturing facility will cover an area of 200,000 sq.m which will include a production workshop over 14,000 sq.m and 7,000 sq.m for office space, testing grounds and shipping fields. The construction will be carried out in two phases where the first phase will be completed in six months. The manufacturing facility will be used for production and maintenance of railway testing and transportation equipment and lifting equipment. The R&D facility will be located within this manufacturing facility and will be operated in collaboration with the Yangtze River Delta R&D Transporation Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University. The R&D centre will work in collaboration with the manufacturing facility in order to supply equipment and other services to the customers of WowJoint. More focus will be given to rail transportation and logistics projects in South China and global markets. The CEO of WowJoint Yabin Liu believes that the proximity of the facility to Shanghai will help the company to utilise its resources to the maximum capability, which in turn will help in their future expansion plans.
