Construction and Renovation Work Continues at The Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens

The building crew are excavating 18,000 cubic yards of soil towards development of Phase II of The Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens which is a community of residences for elderly citizens.

The project will comprise an office building, living quarters, healthcare center, parking garage and a community room. Through the course of the construction and renovation, The Terraces has donated medical, household, and kitchen products of value $100,000 to the Fresno Rescue Mission and other charity organizations.

The Grove is the community’s specialized Alzheimer’s and memory care center, anticipated to be completed in September. Constituting 24 rooms, The Grove will serve a section of the population of the San Joaquin valley and the state. As per the Alzheimer’s Association Disease Facts and Figures, the number of those suffering a type of dementia in California will grow by one-third in the coming decade, and those suffering nationwide from Alzheimer’s will triple by 2050.

Demolition is ongoing to make way for the new specialized nursing center at The Terraces, which will include 54 private suites. Three neighborhoods will have rooms facing a central area, which is a distinct design characteristic in California. The progress of the new community building is ahead of schedule. It will consist of a café, fine-dining space inclusive of a winery, a fine arts center, and an auditorium for symphonies and theater events.

Building work is in progress at The Milano, the 86-apartment, maintenance-free dwellings to be constructed above the underground parking garages.
