Skanska Makes Investment in First Phase of Kapelanka 42 Office Project in Poland

Skanska invests EUR 32 M, about SEK 280 M, in the first phase of the Kapelanka 42 office project located in Cracow, southern Poland. The construction contract is worth EUR 26 M, about SEK 230 M, which is included in order bookings for the third quarter 2012.

This is the first project carried out by Skanska Property Poland in the Cracow region. The office scheme will consist of two class A buildings. The total leasable area of the complex will be around 30,000 square meters, with nine stories above ground level and three stories underground. The first phase will comprise of about 12 250 square meters plus underground garage for both phases. Construction is due to start in the fourth quarter of 2012 and completion of the project is scheduled for the third quarter of 2014.

Kapelanka 42 is going to feature a number of sustainable solutions to minimize the building’s environmental footprint and significantly reduce its operating costs. The project will apply for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) pre-certification at Gold level.
