Stuart Dean Gives Second Life to the Historic Beverly Hills Post Office

Stuart Dean, an international provider of renowned architectural restoration services, has given a second life to the historic lobby of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Formerly the home of the Beverly Hills Post Office built in 1933, the building was recently renovated and expanded in preparation for its re-grand opening. Stuart Dean stripped, waxed, honed and polished 4,400 square feet of green marble floors and cleaned 7,000 square feet of green marble walls.

Stuart Dean partnered with California Restoration & Waterproofing, who served as the historic restoration contractor for the owner and restores buildings all over southern California. Nicknamed "The Wallis," the Center's grand opening gala event was hosted by Robert Redford, Brad Pitt, Jamie Tirsh and its namesake, Wallis Annenberg, who contributed to its renovation.

"Stuart Dean is honored to have had a hand in this important renovation project," said Mark Parrish, president and CEO of Stuart Dean. "Our expertise in marble restoration ensured that the historic marble of the Beverly Hills Post Office was returned to its original condition. Stuart Dean is pleased to support The Wallis and contribute to preserving the beauty of this historic structure."

The Wallis encompasses an entire block in Beverly Hills, located between Crescent and Canon Drives. It consists of the renovated, historic 1933 Beverly Hills Post Office and the new 500-seat Goldsmith Theater. These two structures create a cultural landmark, combining the city's history and its future. The Wallis is the first performing arts center built in Beverly Hills, and will now be a home for artists from around the world and audiences of all ages.
