M/I Homes of Charlotte is starting 2014 by helping customers save every month through M/I Homes' exclusive Whole Home Building Standards.

These best practices are part of every M/I home. They go beyond standard code, resulting in a home that is independently tested to determine its Home Energy Rating System Index, or HERS Index. M/I's HERS indices are even better than those required by the EPA for Energy Star® Certification.

* A video series that clearly explains everything that Whole Home encompasses, including the details of the all-important HERS Index.
*An energy savings calculator that allows visitors to determine how much money they could be saving in a new M/I home built to the Whole Home standards.
M/I is committed to energy efficiency, but that's just the beginning of the Whole Home story. The standards also apply to the volume, efficiency and purity of the water being used in the home. Special attention is paid to the circulation of the interior air quality, which is especially important in an M/I home that is sealed in a weather tight "envelope."
