MODEX 2014: Ingersoll Rand to Highlight New Material Handling Solutions

Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in compressed air systems and services, power tools, fluid management and material handling equipment, will showcase three new material handling solutions—the Kinetic Series manual chain and lever hoist offering, the EZ Series floor supported crane system and the SideKick Series ultra-compact lever hoist—at the 2014 MODEX Show held in Atlanta, Mar. 17-20.

Ingersoll Rand leaders will be available to demonstrate and discuss the company’s material handling solutions in the Ingersoll Rand booth 9528 at the MODEX Show. Attendees are invited to operate Ingersoll Rand hoists and experience the company’s material handling durable offering in several real-life lifting situations within the booth.

“Ingersoll Rand material handling solutions are tough enough to handle even the most challenging environments in industrial, ship building, commercial construction, manufacturing, and warehouse applications,” said David Puck, vice president of material handling product management, Ingersoll Rand. “Our lifting and material handling equipment are built with premium, durable features to maximize productivity and help ensure safe, reliable lifting, pulling and positioning. We are looking forward to showcasing our new Kinetic Series, EZ Series and SideKick hoist and crane systems at the MODEX show.”

Kinetic Series Hoists

Kinetic Series hoists are built with bearing construction — caged ball bearings on the load sprocket and caged roller bearings on the main shaft — to minimize the manual effort required by the user, which makes for an overall smoother operation. The Kinetic Series manual chain and lever chain hoists are ideal for industrial and manufacturing applications in refineries and the construction, power generation, ship building and workboat markets.

The lever chain hoist is built with a corrosion resistant, fused brake disk design for longer brake life and an ergonomic grip to reduce operator fatigue. The lifting capacity of the lever chain hoist ranges from .75 to 9 metric tons. The manual chain hoist has a reinforced double pawl brake system and large diameter pawl springs, ensuring the reliability of the braking system. It is constructed entirely of lighter-weight steel, and has a lifting capacity that ranges from .25 to 20 metric tons. Both hoists are lightweight and their compact designs have low headroom for increased lifting height, even in tight spaces.

EZ Series Floor Supported Crane Systems

EZ Series floor supported crane systems combine industry-leading articulation and rolling resistance and eliminate the need for an overhead support structure. This rugged design with powder coat finish is ideal for industrial environments. The certified steel structure offers simple and rapid installation options which combine the bridge and rail crane technologies. The EZ Series features an advanced trolley design with injection molded Delrin wheels reducing rolling resistance to 1 percent of the load and the Lindapter® adjustable toe clamps make it easier to align runways for smooth operation.

SideKick Series Lever Hoist

The ultra-compact SideKick Series lever hoist weighs less than 10 pounds for maximum portability and is compact to fit into the tightest spaces. The SideKick Series hoist is the perfect lifting companion for the DIYer, mechanic, maintenance person and anyone requiring a highly portable lifting solution. The SideKick hoists incorporate a double pawl, disc brake system for dependability and heat treated side plates for additional durability. Their lifting capacity ranges from 0.25 metric ton (550 lbs) to .75 metric ton (1,650 lbs) with 5-foot and 10-foot chains.
