Tom Wood Subaru to Celebrate Grand Opening of New LEED Certified Facility on May 28 in Indiana

Tom Wood Subaru is celebrating the grand opening of their new Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facility on May 28th. This will be the first automotive dealership to receive the LEED certification in the entire state of Indiana.

The dealership had to follow implement several criteria to order to qualify for this environmental acknowledgement including recycling 100% of the old parking lot and 90% of the old building and low emissions on all materials for adhesives, sealants, paints, flooring and day-lighting. A full list of the dealership environmentally friendly attributes can be found online.

Schedule of events:

  • 1:00-5:00 p.m.: Tour of facility by Tom Wood Subaru General Manager, Bart Schlosser, with Tom Wood Automotive President Jeff Wood, and Vice President John Wood, and architect Mike Balay in attendance.
  • 6:00 p.m. "green" ribbon cutting ceremony
    • In attendance will be:
      • Jeff Wood: President, Tom Wood Automotive
      • Tom Doll: President, Subaru of America
      • Tom Easterday: Executive Vice President, Subaru of Indiana Automotive
      • Jerry Torr: State Legislator, House District 39
  • Reception 6:30-9:00 p.m. with live music and catering provided by The Food Guys and Baking You Happy.
