Infinite Peripherals Opens Larger Headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Ill.

To accommodate increasing market demand, Infinite Peripherals, Inc. (IPC), the leading developer of mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) devices, recently opened a new, larger headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Triple the size of its former facility at 25,000 square feet, the new space includes an expansive warehouse where IPC has implemented its own Linea Pro and Infinea Tab handheld devices to maximize operational efficiency.

As more leading U.S. companies adopt mPOS and enhance Apple®'s iOS devices with IPC’s first-to-market iOS peripheral barcode scanners and magnetic stripe readers, IPC has rapidly expanded, outgrowing its warehouse and internal data systems to manage continually increasing inventory and order flow.

“After six years in our old facility, we are thrilled to accommodate growing needs and capitalize on new opportunities with our new headquarters,” said Andrew Graham, president and co-founder of IPC. “As IPC enters new markets beyond retail, including healthcare, medical, warehouse and logistics, we are better equipped to maximize our outreach and optimize our service.”

State-of-the Art Warehouse Technology

In the warehouse, IPC utilizes its Linea Pro and Infinea Tab devices, which include a barcode scanner, attach to an iPod touch® or iPad®, respectively, and run on custom software to handle inventory receipt, organization and picking; labeling (using IPC’s DPP-450 mobile printer) and shipping; serial number tracking; quality control and more.

Replacing its previous paper-based system, the new mobile operational process has proven to be significantly faster and more accurate, which results in greater productivity to meet higher demand for products.

Award-Winning Design

In addition to expediting order fulfillment, the new facility also features a sleek, forward-thinking look that recently earned a RED Award from the Illinois Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) for exemplary design in the category of Contract Office – Small. Built from raw space, the open area offices and mezzanine invite collaboration and share abundant natural lighting and industrial gray walls with bold red and white accents. Glass panels in the workspaces serve as writable surfaces to enhance communication.

RED Award winners were selected by a panel of judges that reviewed nearly 100 entries from more than three dozen Illinois-based design firms and designers. NELSON Chicago designed IPC’s facility.

Built for Convenience

Located at 2312 Touhy Ave. in an industrial park, the new IPC headquarters is minutes from O’Hare International Airport, through which most of the company’s products are shipped, as well as easily accessible from the downtown Chicago area, a major Midwest business hub.
