Vermiculite Insulation Health Risk

The US EPA has launched a national consumer awareness program to alert the public to the risk of asbestos particles in vermiculite insulation.

Although the vermiculite is likely to contain only very small levels of asbestos fibre and the risks associated with it are low, the campaign is about educating the public to be aware of the precautions they can take to protect against disturbing and inhaling asbestos.

Additional information and a series of documents and are available through the EPA asbestos website.
