Brookfield Residential has won an impressive three, top Gold Nugget awards for "exceptional concepts in design, planning and development" for its Playa Vista community in West Los Angeles.
Among the Grand Award recognitions were Detached Residential Project of the Year for Playa Vista's new-home neighborhoods which debuted in February; Best Single Family Detached Home, 3,500 - 3,999 Square Feet, for Trevion, the "beautifully detailed modern home" built by Brookfield Residential at Playa Vista; and Best On the Boards Site Plan for Playa Vista's Phase II community plan, now completing construction. The Gold Nugget awards are presented annually by PCBC, the gathering of America's most prominent residential builders, developers, architects, building scientists, lenders, investors, marketers, and product manufacturers. Playa Vista is developed by Brookfield Residential.
Brookfield Residential and the homebuilders at Playa Vista were also recognized with these Gold Nugget Awards:
- Grand Award, Best Single Family Detached Home, 2,000 - 3,000 Square Feet: for Woodson, which judges called the "unique, well-designed urban home" built by TRI Pointe Homes at Playa Vista.
- Award of Merit, Best Single Family Detached Home, 2,500 - 2,900 Square Feet: for Asher, built by KB Home at Playa Vista.
- Award of Merit, Best Single Family Detached Home, 3,500 - 3,999 Square Feet, for Trevion's Plan 2 design.

One jury member who often drives by the site summed it up when he said, community is already happening here."
