Eco's New Defensive Builder Certification Program Educates Key Constituents within Home Builder Industry

Eco Building Products, Inc., the manufacturer of Eco Red Shield™ treated wood products that uniquely protects against termites, rot, fire and mold, today announced the establishment of the Company's proprietary defensive builder certification programs to educate key constituents within the home builder industry on the importance and feasibility of defensive construction.

The Company has found continual success in the creation of primary demand for Eco Red ShieldTM protected lumber using education as its platform to mitigate risks to the constituents and their customers. The growing support of this defensive building movement was founded by the Company's President & CEO as this was the same strategy implemented years ago when engineered lumber products made their market debut. This effort is being driven by Company's Technical Support Team engaged in educational outreach efforts targeting architects, engineers, builders, contractors and realtors, stimulating their knowledge base and operational know-how on how to build and conduct business in support of defensive building practices that mitigate legal claims and defend against climate change storms.

Eco's new Defensive Builder Certification Program is an eight hour course that educates and certifies individuals via classroom and hands-on practical application training. Educational hot topics include:

  1. Mold growth on lumber and the negative effects on indoor air quality;
  2. Wood fiber strength reduction from wet wood and rot from lumber stored in rain and snow;
  3. The effects of termites destroying wood fiber strength that supports lateral strength in ground movement and high winds;
  4. Causes, effects and susceptibility of fire on wood-framed structures using today's juvenile lumber;
  5. How to spot check framing lumber for problems before it gets nailed into the building;
  6. How to defend against construction defects prior to framing and closing building in.

Builders and Framers engaged in Eco's Defensive Builder Certification Program strongly relate to Eco's team due to mutual interest and experience in the framing and lumber fields. There is a consensus that anyone selling or installing lumber products need to do everything possible to protect themselves and their operations from reasonably foreseen claims down the road. Upon completion of the training program, diploma ceremonies are filmed to provide marketing support for our new partners. https://youtu.be/NFPaeC_quaw
