AZEK Building Products is now endorsing new Enkadrain® 3801 as an effective drainage mat to be used on flat roof applications between the waterproofing membrane and AZEK Pavers.
Environmentally friendly AZEK Pavers, which are lightweight and made with up to 95% recycled content, are widely used on flat roofs as an easy way to turn an unused, unattractive roof into usable outdoor space. Manufactured by Bonar Inc., the new Enkadrain 3801 mat, a thin yet sturdy drainage composite, has been tested in several AZEK Paver flat roof projects with excellent feedback.
When used with AZEK's Standard or Resurfacing Pavers, the Enkadrain 3801 drainage mat improves installation efficiency and performance. With a recycled polypropylene drainage core containing 40% post-industrial content, Enkadrain 3801 features a strong but lightweight filtered fabric thermally bonded to each side. The mat's filament configuration is protected from UV degradation for up to 30 days after installation. When used with other recycled products, such as AZEK Pavers, Enkadrain 3801 can help contribute up to two LEED points.
Enkadrain 3801 is 30% thinner than other mats on the market and lays flatter, while resisting expansion/contraction, buckling or creasing. The fabric is also breathable to prevent stagnant water underneath and is more rigid underfoot.
AZEK Resurfacing Pavers can be installed over a flat roof, balcony, worn deck or cracked patio without the weight concerns of heavy traditional brick or concrete pavers. AZEK Standard Pavers, perfect for new patios and driveways, and ground applications, typically install over a sub-base of aggregate. Although the AZEK Resurfacing Pavers are widely used on flat roofs, the AZEK Standard Pavers may also be used where there is a height consideration to be met.
AZEK Pavers, manufactured primarily using scrap tires mixed with some plastics, install on a unique grid system up to three times faster than traditional pavers and are less than a third the weight. They require no special masonry tools or wet saws required. With low-maintenance, beauty and durability, AZEK Pavers are stain-, impact- and scratch-resistant and are available in five colors. AZEK Resurfacing and Standard Pavers come in three sizes – 4" x 8", 4" x 4", and 8" x 8" for expanded design options.
