The new model home in Charlottesville's Westlake Hill at Foothill Crossing achieved a 29 on the Home Energy Rating System Index, signifying Stanley Martin's supreme commitment to energy efficiency. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home's energy efficiency is measured. It's also the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home's energy performance.
This new home is not only more energy efficient than any that came before; it is the first to feature a 5.2 kilowatt hour (kWh) Sigora Solar power plant on the roof, which enables prospective Virginia homebuyers to save money on energy costs while sustaining the environment and shaping the future.
