WattStopper's Wireless Exterior Lighting Controls Solution Wins 2015 Architectural Products Magazine Award

WattStopper®, a leading manufacturer of energy efficient lighting controls for commercial and residential use, today announced that it received the 2015 Architectural Products magazine Product Innovation Award (PIA) in the Lighting/Electrical category. WattStopper was awarded this top accolade for the product design and functionality of its Wireless Exterior Lighting Controls solution.

This is the second PIA award WattStopper has received from the publication. The first award was given in 2012 for its Digital Lighting Management solution, named best lighting control system in the Lighting/Electrical category.

Architectural Products magazine is the U.S. national trade publication for architects, specifiers, designers and building owners/operators in commercial, light commercial and institutional markets. The publication's awards program, now in its fifth year, recognizes a wide variety of innovative buildings-related products. Winners were judged by a group of 32 independent industry professionals.

WattStopper Exterior Lighting Controls allow facility managers to schedule and remotely manage outdoor lighting, as well as take action if faults occur based on real-time energy reporting. The solution is ideal for a wide range of commercial site, parking, pathway and roadway lighting. It delivers substantial energy and cost savings by up to 39 percent via automation and remote management of lighting. Built on open standards, including 6LoWPAN and BACnet, it ensures maximum flexibility for outdoor lighting control and integration with existing systems. Per a judge's comment, "If we can't have universal controls, then having a control system like this that can control many manufacturers' lighting products is next best."

"Building on the success of previous year's programs, our fifth annual awards program proves commercial building manufacturers are committed to developing and bringing to market sustainable and cost efficient products that deliver improved performance, life and affordability," said Jim Crockett, editorial director of Architectural Products magazine.

"It's an honor to be recognized for our leadership in exterior lighting controls through this industry award," said Jim Young, Vice President of Marketing of WattStopper. "For more than 30 years, we've been bringing best-in-class and interoperable lighting controls to provide designers, facility managers and building owners the greatest flexibility for a wide range of applications from healthcare facilities, corporate sites and office parks, to school and university campuses."

The WattStopper Exterior Lighting Controls solution and the list of all the winning products are featured in the November issue of Architectural Products.
