The NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council Best of 55+ Housing Awards are the industry’s most prestigious and only national awards program honoring excellence in building, design, marketing and lifestyles in housing for boomers and beyond. The industry and the media view the awards as a showcase for innovation, emerging trends and quality housing for a mature demographic.

Watercrest Senior Living, the co-developer and operator of Watercrest of Lake Nona, opened the 76,000 square foot, 80 unit premier senior living community in October 2015 in the 7,000-acre master-designed community of Lake Nona, FL. In a feat of proficiency, Watercrest of Lake Nona passed their initial AHCA survey deficiency free, just two days after receiving their Certificate of Occupancy from the City of Orlando and opened to residents just thirteen months after the groundbreaking by Walker Construction Company.

Watercrest Senior Living, located in Vero Beach, specializes in the development and operations of assisted living and memory care communities. With nearly a dozen communities under development nationwide, Watercrest principals, Marc Vorkapich, CEO and Joan Williams, CFO are setting new standards of quality for seniors and their families in the development of upscale senior living communities. “From the start, we set out to design Watercrest communities specifically with seniors in mind and it’s an honor to be selected by the NAHB as a finalist in this prestigious competition, recognizing the importance of quality design and lifestyle provided for seniors,” says Marc Vorkapich, Principal and CEO of Watercrest Senior Living.

Watercrest of Lake Nona, a joint venture project with Index Investment Group, is the first of its kind, offering 56 assisted living and 24 memory care apartments with premium accommodations and exceptional care. Designed to surpass the standard expectations of senior living, this resort-like community offers exceptional amenities such as luxurious Spa W, multiple dining options with locally grown organic fare, private label Watercrest wines, grand balconies, pool and fireplaces, cultural programs, and distinctive opportunities for learning and social activities; all perfectly situated in the center of Lake Nona offering world-class education, Medical City, recreational facilities, diverse workspaces, retail centers, entertainment venues and vast residential options.

The NAHB’s 55+ Housing Industry Council has selected a distinguished panel from across the country representing expertise in development, architecture, active adult, assisted living, multifamily, universal design, marketing and lifestyle to judge the Best of 55+ Housing Awards this year. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at the Renaissance Hotel, Las Vegas during the International Builders Show.

Partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders such as land owners, real estate developers, investors, financial institutions, and REITs, Watercrest Senior Living Group focuses on its core strengths, operations management of assisted living and memory care communities and the development of servant leaders.
