Skanska Signs Fixed Price Contract to Construct Copyright Building for Derwent London

Skanska has signed a fixed price contract worth GBP 45M, about SEK 550M, to construct the Copyright Building for Derwent London. The order will be included in order bookings for Skanska UK in the first quarter 2016.

Designed by Piercy & Company, the 9,800 square meters scheme comprises a mixture of office and retail space. Skanska is responsible for the design, construction, mechanical and electrical engineering and ceiling installation within this new development.

The team is targeting the BREEAM Excellent environmental standard, using sustainable approaches throughout the construction phase and installing solar panels on the building’s green roof.

Works are expected to be completed in autumn 2017.

Skanska UK reported revenues of about SEK 18 billion in 2015. It has around 5,500 employees. The company is active in building and civil construction, utilities and building services, as well as facilities management and commercial development. In the UK, Skanska is a leader in public private partnerships, PPPs, also known as Privately Financed Initiatives, PFIs.
