Versatile, Environmentally Friendly Decking Material

Two Australian companies have developed outdoor decking materials with the attractive appearance of wood but with the simplicity and versatility of paving blocks. The products known as ModDeck and Easydeck are modular decking systems that are easily laid over existing concrete or on a specially prepared area.

Easydeck uses real jarrah strips on interlocking bases and requires minimal preparation and no adhesives. It can be oiled or stained as required.

The wooden surface of ModDeck is manufactured from an environmentally friendly composite of a mixture of ground sawdust and recycled plastic (recycled milk bottles). ModDeck is glued in place with builders adhesive but it will not rot, warp, split or splinter. It never needs painting or staining, is suitable for coastal areas and is termite resistant.
