Ibstock Brick Helps To Win Housing Development Award

Terrace One in Lanark Street, Glasgow, has taken out the BDA 2002 Best Private Housing Development award. The striking exterior of the building uses Ibstock's Westbrick Staffordshire Slate Blue Smooth bricks in a stack bond with recessed pointing. This emphasises the role of the brick as masonry and harmonises with the aluminium framed window groupings and other design elements.

The houses and membrane covered flat roof are also insulated to very high standards and are glazed with a proprietary aluminium frame double glazed unit. The building was developed as a challenge to produce an innovative housing environment for a modern lifestyle at an affordable price.
