Luxury building trends from the US

Building trends from the luxury end of the market often filter down to the average affordable home. The current popularity of home theatres is a timely example. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has reported on current trends at the luxury end of the US building market that could become commonplace in normal homes.

Such trends are considerate suites (a peninsula of bedroom-dressing room-bathroom that insulates the bedroom other household noise), screen porches with fireplaces; dining rooms flexible enough to suit intimate dinners or grand-scale entertainment; library-study rooms and a variation of old style mud rooms that are entry rooms designed for sports people and their associated equipment.
