Samsung Corporation To Build World's Tallest Skyscraper

Samsung Corporation (Sangdae Lee) has won a U.S. $850 million order from United Arab Emirates to build the tallest skyscraper, Burj Dubai, in the world.

Building will commence in January 2005 on the 160 floor, 700m high and 5,340,000 square foot structure. The project is planned to be completed in November 2008 after 47 months of construction.

The client is Emaar Develepment, the largest real estate developer in UAE. When the building is completed at a heart of Dubai new city, Burj Dubai will be the tallest building in the world and exceed 200 or 300m over Taipei TFC 101 building, the tallest one in the world as of today, in height.

It is hoped that The Burj Dubai will become the landmark of Dubai's economic development.
