Alfa Laval Wins SEK 100 Million Engineering Contract for Ethanol Plant in Vietnam

Alfa Laval (STO:ALFA) – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has received another order from PetroVietnam Group.

The order value is about SEK 100 million and includes equipment and engineering solutions to an ethanol production plant in northern Vietnam. Delivery is scheduled for 2010.

The plant in Vietnam will produce fuel ethanol from cassava chips. Alfa Laval’s heat exchangers will be used in a starch-based fermentation, distillation and dehydration process of the ethanol plant.

“Alfa Laval has for many years been an acknowledged leading supplier to the established ethanol markets in the US and Brazil”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. ”This is our second order from Vietnam in short time and it confirms our strong position also in the growing Asian market.”

Did you know… that the PetroVietnam plant is part of the biofuel development program, ratified by the Vietnam Government last year, with aim to produce 320 million litres of ethanol and vegetable oil by 2015?
