Huttig Building Products, Inc., one of the largest domestic distributors of millwork, building materials and wood products used principally in new residential construction and in home improvement, remodeling and repair work, today announced the opening of a new production and distribution center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, to serve pro dealers within a 150-mile radius of the metropolitan Minneapolis area.
The expansion is part of Huttig's strategic plan to expand product offerings and enter new markets. These two strategies, together with the balance of Huttig's plan, are designed to better serve building materials dealers, national buying groups, home centers and industrial users, including makers of manufactured homes.
The new 73,000 square foot Minneapolis facility, Huttig's 45th distribution center, will include many product lines of building materials and wood products. In addition, the facility will house pre-hung interior and exterior door assembly lines, and offer a variety of interior and exterior door options (including steel, wood and fiberglass) as well as other mouldings, columns and stairway systems.

"With the addition of the new facility serving greater Minneapolis, we achieve continued geographic expansion and increase our national coverage of the U.S. housing starts market to more than 85%."
