DiggersList Relaunches Website, Adds Interesting Home Improvement Resources

DiggersList, the online renovation resource, today announced the re-launch of its website. The revamped DiggersList.com now has consumer-friendly categories aimed at providing renovation minded consumers with a one-stop shop for all things home improvement, from finding furniture or building materials like paint or tile, to hiring contractors for projects such as landscaping or swimming pool installations.

Unlike general online classified sites like Craigslist, DiggersList.com is specifically tailored to the home improvement community and gives consumers the ability to choose from hundreds of home improvement categories including furniture, interior design/décor, kitchen, landscaping, wood/lumber, plumbing and electrical material. For larger and more complicated projects, DiggersList users can opt to create a free profile, post a project and receive bids from contractors, all for free. DiggersList provides users with access to over 17 markets nationwide such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and even extends to smaller markets such as Tucson and New Hampshire.

“The relaunch of DiggersList.com is a result of the dire need consumers have for free online home improvement resources,” said Matt Knox, CEO and Co-Founder of DiggersList. "With the economy in a lull, homeowners are increasingly doing renovation projects on their own and trying to cut out the middleman in terms of finding construction material. Through DiggersList.com, consumers have a free platform for all their renovation and construction needs.”

Since its initial launch in October 2009, more than 30,000 users have signed onto DiggersList and posted thousands of home improvement items. Users have also taken advantage of the free DiggersList widget, which gives users the ability to syndicate their DiggersList feed and classified listings to their own website. DiggersList has also partnered with Habitat for Humanity affiliates, which utilizes the DiggersList widget, to build online storefronts for their Habitat for Humanity improvement stores across North America; this includes chapters in Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, Las Vegas and Raleigh, just to name a few.

In addition to new categories and revamped site layout, DiggersList.com will continue to provide free features, including:

  • Consumers and homeowners can buy excess new and gently-used home improvement items, often at discounted prices.
  • Hiring the right contractor or home improvement service provider for your home has never been easier, or cheaper, as DiggersList users can post projects for hire, accept and monitor bids from contractors.
  • Free profiles can be made by consumers looking to connect with other renovation enthusiasts, hire contractors or show off their latest renovation project.
  • The DiggersList widget allows users to syndicate their classified listings to their websites as well as post on their web sites.
