The project received more than $2.1 million in funding from the federal and provincial governments. The construction of this project has created up to 50 jobs in Ontario and helps to meet the housing needs of people with disabilities in the Niagara area.

First Modular Unit Placed for New Affordable Housing Complex in Saskatoon

The Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan, along with Innovative Residential Inc., today held a crane placing for the first modular unit placed on its foundation in the Blairmore neighbourhood of Saskatoon. Hartford Heights, located at 118 Shillington Crescent will assist families in housing need with 40 modular, stacked, two-and three-bedroom townhouse units.

Homeowners Awarded Silver Certificate for Making their Home Energy Efficient

Gail and George Bohling received a coveted "Silver Certificate" today from their Alderman Mary O'Connor because of improvements made to their home in Chicago's 41st Ward. The improvements will save them an estimated $483 annually on their utility bills and an estimated 24% reduction on gas energy usage; all while making the residence safer, more comfortable, and energy efficient. They also received a rebate for $1,750 to help pay for these improvements.

The official opening of 21 new affordable rental housing units for low-income seniors and persons with disabilities was held today in Dunnville. The project received more than $2.5 million in funding from the federal and provincial governments. The construction of this project created up to 53 jobs in the Dunnville area.

Aimco Launches $40M Redevelopment of Lincoln Place

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and L.A. City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl joined representatives from Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco), the Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Los Angeles Conservancy, and leaders of business and labor groups at a ceremony yesterday morning to launch the $140 million redevelopment of Lincoln Place. The new Lincoln Place is expected to bring 600-800 jobs, economic development, and premier apartment living to the Venice neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Combined, these two projects received more than $11.8 million in federal and provincial funding. The construction of these projects created up to 318 jobs in Cambridge.
