Lighting Science Introduces New C2D and Traditional Families of LED Infrastructure Lights

The future of high-performance lighting has just become brighter—and more affordable—with the launch of Lighting Science Group's Curb to Door (C2D) and Traditional series of LED infrastructure luminaires at LightFair 2010.

Built in the USA, both the C2D and the Traditional series luminaires are competitively priced with traditional lighting sources, but up to 70% more efficient. Today's announcement follows Lighting Science Group's successful launch of a breakthrough line of high quality, affordable retrofit LED lamps with a suggested retail price starting below $20, and the introduction of the breakthrough Factor 4 luminaire.

"We believe that the C2D and Traditional LED luminaire families have the best lumens per watt per dollar package on the market today and are the smart choice for saving maintenance, replacement, and energy costs as well as the environment," said Zach Gibler, Chief Executive Officer of Lighting Science Group. "This latest product offering further demonstrates Lighting Science Group's lead in bringing state-of-the-art, yet affordable, lighting solutions to market at a speed unmatched by our competition."

With flexible modular optical design and light output of up to 40,000 lumens, the C2D luminaires are the smart choice for efficiently and affordably lighting parking garages and lots, pathways, sidewalks, building exteriors, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. The C2D LED luminaires are available in six optical platforms:  area; flood; garage; wallpack; post top; and, highbay.

A modern approach with a classic twist, the Traditional series of LED luminaires seamlessly integrates with the existing infrastructure in a wide range of residential and commercial applications—downtown areas, city streets, campuses, commercial parking lots, residential streets, and parks. Designed to maintain a timeless aesthetic, the Traditional family luminaires are fitted with a robust thermal management system to maximize LED life while creating lower energy and maintenance costs in comparison to traditional sources.

"With the C2D and Traditional LED luminaire lines, Americans now have the freedom to choose high performance and efficient lighting solutions for a variety of applications, without paying high prices," said Gibler.

To ensure performance and reliability, the C2D and Traditional LED luminaires families will be tested by an independent laboratory approved by the U.S. Department of Energy's CALiPER program. Both of these lighting families are available through lighting distributors and directly from Lighting Science Group.
