Ceco, the leader in hollow metal doors and frames, is pleased to announce a new patent pending sound absorbing technology designed for high performing acoustical doors.
This new design is ideal for applications requiring high Sound Transmission Class (STC) commonly found in airports, healthcare, hospitality, subways, schools, government/military, and municipal buildings. This expands Ceco's Sound-Tech Xpress portfolio from STC 32-46 to higher operable STC ratings of 47, 48, 49, 50, 52, 53 and 54.
The new Ceco STC 47-54 doors are 30% lighter and thinner than most typical high STC doors, eliminating the need for expensive heavy weight or cam-lift hinges. The light weight design means lower shipping and handling costs compared to other high STC doors and makes field installation easy. Available in single and double openings, these doors come with a variety of hardware options including exit devices and ADA compliant thresholds. All products have been successfully third party tested and certified to the required American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, and are manufactured in compliance with SDI 128 and HMMA 865-03 specifications. This new design supports Ceco's "green" initiatives and is lead and formaldehyde-free. Sound-Tech Xpress products are available with standard production lead times or on Ceco's CExpress quick-ship program. More Ceco STC innovations are expected this summer.
