NCC Wins Contract for High School Construction in Trondheim, Norway

NCC Construction Norway (STO:NCCA) (STO:NCCB) has signed a contract, valued at approximately SEK 260 million, with the Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality in Trondheim for the construction of Strinda High School. The order will be registered in the second quarter of 2011.

The Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality and NCC will immediately commence work to develop the project jointly, leading to a construction start in June 2011. The school is scheduled for completion in time for school start in August 2013.

NCC secured the project in a design competition where, in addition to the price, major emphasis was placed on architecture, pedagogy, health, the environment and safety, as well as property management.

Strinda High School will be designed to house 1,300 pupils and 200 employees. The completed building will be 17,000 square meters, of which 15,000 square meters will be new construction.

“The construction of Strinda High School suits us since we will be able to capitalize on experience from other schools we constructed in Verdal,” says District Manager, Asbjørn Løksa, NCC Construction Norway.
