UNICEF Uses Wellbilt’s Sure-Board Wall Panel System for Homes in Haiti

Wellbilt’s patented Sure-Board Wall Panel System has been used for UNICEF’s permanent and safe homes for children in Belladère, Haiti.

Since the Sure-Board Wall Panel System has been tested and received the Miami-Dade Product Approval for uses in Florida’s high velocity hurricane zones and California’s lateral force resistance for earthquakes, it was ideal for hurricane and earthquake resistant buildings in Haiti.

Local UN officials were impressed with the speed of installation for the entire structures, which only took days with local Haitian labor.

“The application in Haiti is ideal as Sure-Board Wall Panels combine resistance requirements of seismic, wind-shear and impact strength all in the same product,” stated Alina Van Katwyk, president of Wellbilt International. “Sure-Board Wall Panels are load bearing, lightweight and easy to install with unskilled labor.”

With Wellbilt’s Sure-Board Wall Panels, safety and protection can be acquired for the Haitian population against future earthquakes and hurricanes, including hospitals and schools.
