Versar Receives Wastewater Pump Station Upgrade Project in Petersburg, Virginia

Versar, Inc. (NYSE Amex: VSR) announced it was awarded a project to design and construct upgrades to a wastewater pump station for the City of Petersburg, Virginia.

The contract, valued at $2.8 million, is expected to be completed by October of 2011. Versar teamed with the Timmons Group of Richmond to win this best value competitive project. Versar, as the prime design/build contractor, will be responsible for all permitting, project management and construction execution for the pump station.

The Petersburg pump station has a maximum pumping capacity of 12 million gallons per day. The plant will service an important area of Petersburg and Prince George County, Virginia, providing additional sanitary sewer capacity.

Jeff Wagonhurst, President of Versar, said that “This project brings together Versar’s construction management and environmental engineering skills to restore aging infrastructure located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We see upgrading the country’s water and wastewater systems as an important part of our plan to grow our engineering and construction management business.”
