Hurd Windows + Doors Buys High-End Vinyl Window Manufacturer

Hurd Windows & Doors announced it has acquired SuperSeal Manufacturing Company, Inc., a 50-year old, privately-held, high-end vinyl window manufacturer based in South Plainfield, NJ, with a strong east coast presence.

According to Hurd President and CEO Dominic Truniger, the acquisition supports Hurd's strategic growth plan to expand its diverse product mix to address the shifting needs of a broad range of construction markets – with emphasis on the replacement window market, as well as new residential and light commercial.

"With SuperSeal's high-end line of vinyl windows, Hurd is uniquely positioned in the marketplace," said Truniger. "SuperSeal mirrors many of Hurd's core business principles and brand attributes. Like Hurd, they've built their brand on giving customers more. SuperSeal products are well-designed and offer excellent quality, top performance, broad design options and an almost unprecedented range of exterior colors," he said. In fact, SuperSeal has 25 standard exterior painted colors and unlimited custom color matching.

Beyond SuperSeal's design flexibility, its depth of glazing and energy-efficient solutions complement Hurd, which has built a reputation for offering the highest quality glazing in the industry. "And, since Hurd already has experience in the manufacturing, marketing and sale of vinyl windows and doors, we are confident that this will be a smooth and successful transition," Truniger added.

Ron Vespa, who was a SuperSeal co-owner and will continue serving as vice president of the company, said, "SuperSeal has been a family-owned business for 50 years. We had to be confident that the team with whom we joined forces would allow us to continue to build upon our great brand, while realizing supplier synergies, expanding our distribution network and sharing forward-thinking engineering practices to manufacture the energy efficient windows for tomorrow. We have found that with Hurd."

SuperSeal will be an independent subsidiary business of HWD Acquisition. Its products will continue to be marketed under the SuperSeal brand and through its existing distribution channels, along with Hurd's eastern distribution infrastructure.
