McDermott International to Perform Offshore Fabrication and Installation for Chevron USA
McDermott International declared that one of its auxiliary companies has been granted fabrication and installation work by Chevron USA. The contracted work will sustain the progress of Jack and St. Malo fields located in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Morgan City fabrication facility of McDermott International located in Louisiana will fabricate 21 rigid jumpers required for the installation. The company will commence offshore constructions in the early part of 2014 and will deploy its North Ocean 102 (NO 102) and the DB16 sub-sea construction vehicles for the purpose. The crew of NO 102 will transport and lay over 60 miles connecting cables (umbilicals), which include two power and three control cables. The DB16 will erect the jumpers, balance of sub-sea control system components, which includes over 80 flying leads.
The Jack South and St. Malo North and South subsea drill centers placed in around 7,150 feet deep water in the US Gulf of Mexico Walker Ridge lease blocks tie back to the floating production platforms of Jack and St. Malo.
