Foster Wheeler to Provide Front-End Engineering Design for Star Petroleum Refining
Foster Wheeler stated that an auxiliary in its Global Engineering and Construction Group has contracted an accord with Star Petroleum Refining (SPRC).
The accord will require the company to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) for the Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (RFCCU) Revamp Turnaround and Inspection Project in Star Petroleum’s refinery located at Map Ta Phut in Thailand.
The contract is aimed at renovating the RFCCU to improve its on-stream dependability along with improvements in its performance and environment. Foster Wheeler will accomplish the FEED needed for the renovation, which includes the selection of licensor. It will also work along with SPRC to assess the currently followed RFCCU maintenance policies and its consistency aspects to identify the changes if any required in the future, to maintain the perpetual upgrading of the on-stream performance.
Foster Wheeler anticipates finishing the FEED by the first quarter of 2012.
