Over the past five years, the company has spent a total amount of $14 million towards upgrading energy systems and installing measures to reduce energy usage. Apart from the NYSERDA, Urban American has also worked with other institutions such as Harlem Community Development Corporation, which was responsible for weatherization projects for two buildings that were part of the MPP programme. Urban Americans is making continuous investments for more energy-efficient projects. One such project is the on-going work at 3333 Broadway which is the largest single multifamily building in the city of New York.

Until now, it has recruited 50 personnel in supervision and maintenance roles as part of the Building Performance Institute Building Operator Certification programme that focuses on managing and conserving energy and enhancing the safety and health of people.
