Wholesale data centre developer, Vantage Data Centre has announced that its second data centre V2 located in the campus of Santa Clara has received LEED Platinum certification.
All facilities that have been constructed by Vantage till now have been designed to meet the specifications of LEED Platinum. According to Data Centre Knowledge, V2 is the thirteenth data centre in the world to be awarded the LEED Platinum certification. Vantage’s first data centre V3 received LEED Platinum certification during August 2011. The company’s third building V1 has been nominated for LEED Platinum certification.
Once the certification is received, the Santa Clara campus of Vantage Data Centre will be the largest LEED Platinum certified data centre in the nation. V2 has the capability of scaling up to 18 MW from its current 9 MW without interrupting its physical footprint. According to the CEO of Vantage Data Centre Jim Trout V2 has been strategically designed to provide its customers with an operating platform that is reliable, offers lower operating costs and is highly scalable. The company was successful in integrating LEED requirement with its own processes and standards which enabled it to acquire the certification. The company’s services are targeted towards leading companies and service providers across the world.
